Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 October 2026
keyboardtesting.online is a free tool for checking keyboard input in a browser. These terms describe permitted use and the limitations of its results.
Using the tool
You may use the tester for personal or work-related keyboard checks. The test itself requires no installation or separate account. JavaScript is required for live testing; instructions and legal pages remain readable without it.
What the results mean
The page shows events received by your browser, not a complete hardware diagnosis. A highlighted key means an event was received. An unlit or apparently held key does not prove a hardware fault. System shortcuts, Fn/Globe, Touch ID, media controls, browser behaviour and keyboard rollover can affect the result. Layout presets represent common designs and may differ from your device.
Responsible use
Do not attempt to disrupt the website, bypass access restrictions or misuse its services. Test only devices you are authorised to use. Avoid typing passwords or confidential information during a test.
Availability and limitations
The service is provided as available. Continuous availability, support for every browser or detection of every key combination is not guaranteed. Use your judgement before relying on a result for a repair or replacement decision. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be limited.
Privacy and contact
The Privacy Policy explains how keyboardtesting.online handles data. You can contact us using the Contact form on this website.
Names and ownership
Site content and design are protected where applicable. Apple, Mac, Magic Keyboard, Windows and other product names belong to their respective owners. keyboardtesting.online is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Apple or Microsoft.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the service changes. The latest version and its update date will be shown on this page.
